On Saturday, April 28 2012, I once again participated in Sheridan College's Open House, drawing caricatures of the visitors to the event to help raise money for the Animation program, in which I teach 2nd Year Character Design. Here's most of the ones I drew that day:

Oh man I love it. Pleasure meeting you! :)
Hi Pete. Great work! I love the flowing lines of your simple style....just brilliant. Greetings from Scotland!

Wow, surely those're laudable likenesses!
As always, beautiful work, Peter!
Questions: What medium did you use for these, and what SIZE paper did you use to draw them? Them's some big-a** live caricatures!
Also, how long did each drawing take?
Just some questions from someone with experience in the trenches of "live" caricatures!
These are all super good.
This is so.much.eye.candy!!!
Hi Bill,
For the sake of being a live demo during the Open House, I was deliberately drawing larger than I would normally. These caricatures were drawn on 18" x 24" manilla pads using extra soft Pitt Oil Base pencils, whereas I would normally sketch on 11"x 14" pads in marker for a typical live gig. Each one takes about 7 or 8 minutes, I'd reckon.
these are great! - I always learn so much with these side by sides and the choices you made. great stuff!
These are beautiful! It's amazing how much expression you can capture in a single line. Thanks for sharing:)
ps. Bruce Willis doppleganger half way down,haha... the drawing that is..or maybe it's just me?
Mr. Emslie!!! I really enjoy viewing your drawings and studying them. I wish you could update more frequently. I love your caricatures and I´m particularly curious of how you can make any girl look like a very pretty cartoonish girl.
Is it because you see beauty in all the women? Or is it because at some time a woman got angry for not turning out to be favored?
Pardon for my bad English!(and for my corny words of admiration) I´m from a very strange and distant planet called Argentina...
Amazing as always Pete!
Maira - In answer to your question: Yes, I probably do see the beauty in all women and try to celebrate that in my caricatures, as my approach naturally trends more towards elegance than ridicule. I must admit that I love drawing cute young women most of all - my favourite paying gigs are bridal showers!
Thanks for answer me Mr. Emslie, Is very kind of you. I'd love to take your classes, certainly you might give me many good advices on my caracters. Who knows?... Maybe some day.
¡besos!
You are so talented! Why don't all you brilliant cartoonists get together and make your own studios?
John K, Jim Smith, Jess Borutski and of course yourself!? You guys would revolutionise cartoons and maybe get them back to what they should be!!!
I love your style. These caricatures are fantastic. Really great 60s style to the lines I love them. I already saved the last set of these for reference and I'm gonna save these too for when I need inspiration.
