Looks like this blog is once again long overdue for an update. Unfortunately, what with grading student assignments as the fall semester ends, as well as getting stuff done for Christmas, I just haven't had much time to do much new art to post. I'm afraid that these latest doodles are the best I can offer at this time, sketched yesterday while having lunch out and reading my newspaper. Hopefully I can do some more finished art in the couple weeks I have off before school starts up again.
In the meantime, I'm going to just relax now on this Christmas Eve by sitting back and watching Bell, Book and Candle, which, while technically is not a Christmas movie per se, does take place over the Christmas season nevertheless. It stars Jimmy Stewart and the yummy Kim Novak, who plays a sexy witch as I've caricatured her below.
Merry Christmas, folks!
Merry Christmas, Pete, and have fun watching "Bell, Book, and Candle," which I happen to love as well, since my favorite funny man actor Jack Lemmon does a fantastic job at playing the music playing witch in the film. One of these days, I'll need to watch it again for myself.
ReplyDeleteSwell drawings as usual.
Glad to hear you're a Jack Lemmon fan, Roberto! I'll have to draw a caricature of him sometime for my blog.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Pete !
ReplyDeleteI watched Boys Town and Men of Boys Town for the first time this year. Technically, they aren't Christmas films but IMO, they are for the sake of having the reoccuring theme of charity.
I also saw It's A Wonderful Life for the first time in years. Man, if there was one fictional character I'd love to kick right in duh nertz it would be Henry F. Potter.
Nice Kim Novak!

ReplyDeleteI think I've seen BELL BOOK & CANDLE at least 50 times. It's a great film. George Dunning's score is a marvel, it's so sweet. (He also did a great score for MAGOO'S 1001 ARABIAN NIGHTS. The director, Richard Quine, also advised on the Magoo feature.)
ReplyDeleteGreat job my friend.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a happy New Year,
jan :)
